The inner city’s central shopping area includes its unique Rows (two levels of shops) which date from medieval times and are believed to include the oldest shop front in England. In addition to the many chain stores you will find in Chester, there is an indoor market, a Debenhams department store (Formerly Browns of Chester), and two main shopping centres- Grosvenor Shopping Centre and The Forum.
Furthermore, to the West and South of the town there are the retail parks Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Broughton Retail Park.
The former of these (located off Junction 10 of the M53) is the UK’s largest outlet centre, with 145 stores and was the first designer outlet village in Europe when it opened in 1995. Adjacent to it lies a leisure park, the Coliseum, which provides both further shopping possibilities and also features a bowling alley and a Vue Cinema, along with the Destiny & Elite night club. An impressive array of places to dine are spread across both the sites.
